A camera in one hand, a flight plan in the other – that's how so-called plane spotters and lots of aviation fans wander around at the airport, especially at the weekends and whenever special events are taking place. The Airbus A380, the Antonov, one of the largest freight planes in the world, or vintage planes like "Aunt Ju", ensure that spots at the airport perimeter fence and the free observation deck are well attended.

The spot where aviation fans enjoy the best view depends, among other things, on the position of the sun and visibility. The plane spotting communities at Stuttgart Airport have compiled an overview of the terrain and the best vantage points.
